Tricked Out Harvest Machine

1/28/2009
It’s round two for MachineryLink and its Smarter Harvester Tour, and they’ve delivered another show-stopper. After the crowds surrounded their Buffalo Combine in 2008, the combine leasing company partnered with the team at Chrome Shop Mafia (CSM). The result is the Renegade combine. I don’t think the farmer in Wisconsin they bought it from would recognize their 1968 John Deere any more.

This two-row John Deere Model 95 “Corn Special” combine got full treatment from CSM, whose work was featured on many episodes of the CMT program, “Trick My Truck” in 2006 and 2007. This is being boasted as the first unconventional antique combine restoration.

The back section of the combine articulates 90º upward to reveal a complete audio/visual system. Onlookers step inside to see the display of the MachineryLink website, videos and presentations. The CSM crew removed all the threshing iron, but the combine can still move in and out of farm show lots on its own with a tuned up engine.

The fabrication team received delivery of the combine on Sept. 15th,2008, and when it emerged from CSM’s shop on Jan. 5, 2009 it was a lot to take in. MachineryLink said they gave minimal specs to CSM to allow for their full artistic license with the project.

The 2009 Smarter Harvest Tour launched with the unveiling of the Renegade
at KNID Agrifest in Enid, Oklahoma. Here are some videos from that event...

The next stop will be at Commodity Classic in Grapevine, TX.

You can see more about this machine at the 6 other stops it’ll make at farm
shows across seven states and western Canada.

This machine needs synthetic lubricants, if it doesn't already - is all I can say.
