Don’t Miss AgDay’s “Harvest of Thanks”

11/25/2009

Sara Schafer, AgWeb Crops Online Editor

This Thanksgiving marks 10 years of AgDay’s annual “Harvest of Thanks” special episode.

“This year, we travel from Ohio to Oregon to bring stories of America's farmers on the frontline of agriculture,” says Wes Mills, AgDay executive producer.

The farmer spotlights include:
  • Karl Scronce, a farmer from Klamath Falls, Ore. and National Association of Wheat Growers President
  • Rob Joslin, a farmer from Sidney, Ohio and the American Soybean Association President
  • Darrin Ihnen, a farmer from Hurley S.D. and the National Corn Growers Association president

In addition to the commodity organization officers, AgDay also profiles a dairy family from Circleville, Ohio.

“They're an interesting profile,” Mills says. “The family moved from the Netherlands to start a dairy farm. Then his wife got breast cancer, which she successfully battled. They talk about those challenges, but overcoming it all.”

Mills says this is definitely a show that the whole family will enjoy.

To watch this special dedication to the country’s farmers, tune into AgDay on Thursday, Nov. 26 or to U.S. Farm Report on Sunday, Nov. 29. (Find your local listings for these programs.)

AgDay can also be viewed on RFD-TV at 8 a.m. ET. You can watch U.S. Farm Report on RFD-TV at 10 a.m. ET on Saturday and 4 p.m. ET on Sunday.
