CORN PRICES:

GOOD MORNING I'M TYNE MORGAN IN FOR CLINTON GRIFFITHS. CORN PRICES PLUMMET FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE TRADING DAY AS THE MARKET IS STILL TRYING TO COPE WITH USDA'S LATEST QUARTERLY GRAIN STOCKS REPORT.

CROP PROGRESS:

MEANWHILE, THE LATEST USDA REPORT SHOWS IT'S ONLY THE SECOND DAY OF APRIL AND ALREADY, PLANTING IS BEHIND.

MISSOURI PLANTING CONDITIONS:

IN NORTHWEST MISSOURI, THE BEGINNING OF APRIL IS USUALLY GO-TIME FOR PLANTING.
LAST YEAR AT THIS TIME, PLANTERS WERE ROLLING IN THE FIELD. THIS YEAR, TRACTORS ARE STILL PARKED.  I TALKED TO A MISSOURI FARMER ON FRIDAY WHO HAS GROWING CONCERNS AS EACH CALENDAR DAY PASSES BY.

CROP WATCH:

AS THE CROP PROGRESS REPORT SHOWS, SPRING CONDITIONS JUST ARE NOT SUPPORTIVE OF THE IDEA TO GET VERY FAR WITH PLANTING. MIKE HOFFMAN HAS THIS MORNING'S CROPWATCH, MIKE.
