CANADA PEDV:

GOOD MORNING I'M CLINTON GRIFFITHS. A DISEASE THAT'S POUNDING THE U-S PORK INDUSTRY HAS NOW CROSSED THE BORDER.

CATTLE ON FEED:
CATTLE ON FEED REPORT CAME OUT FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND IT SHOWS.....INVENTORY NUMBERS TOTAL 10 POINT 6 MILLION HEAD. THAT'S FIVE PERCENT BELOW LAST YEAR--AND LAST YEAR WAS 6 PERCENT BELOW 2012. THE REPORT ALSO INDICATES SOME HERD EXPANSION---AS HEIFER AND HEIFER CALF NUMBERS WERE DOWN 8 PERCENT. PLACEMENTS WERE UP SLIGHTLY WHILE MARKETING WERE SLIGHTLY LOWER.

FARM BILL:

FARM BILL CONFEREES ARE SCHEDULED TO BE BACK AT IT TODAY. THE COMMITTEE IS EXPECTED TO EITHER HOLD A CONFERENCE MEETING OR GOP CONFEREE MEETING TO DISCUSS DETAILS OF A FARM BILL DEAL. IT'S STILL UNCERTAIN WHETHER ISSUES LIKE DAIRY AND MANDATORY COUNTRY OF ORIGIN LABELING HAVE ALREADY BEEN WORKED OUT.

PROPANE DEMAND:

SUPPLIES OF PROPANE AND PROPYLENE IN THE MIDWEST FELL BY MORE THAN A MILLION BARRELS LAST WEEK. WITH A LITTLE MORE THAN 10 MILLION THE ENERGY INFORMATION ADMINISTRATION SAYS THAT'S THE LOWEST LEVEL FOR MID-JANUARY SINCE IT STARTED KEEPING TRACK BACK IN 1993. SOME IN THE INDUSTRY ARE ALREADY PREDICTING JANUARY MAY BE THE COLDEST MONTH FOR THE LOWER 48 IN THE NEW MILLINEMUM.
