FARM BILL:

GOOD MORNING I'M CLINTON GRIFFITHS. IN A STUNNING TURN OF WHAT MANY THOUGHT WAS A SURE THING--THE HOUSE VOTES AGAINST A NEW FARM BILL.

IMMIGRATION:

ON THE SENATE SIDE OF THE CAPITOL IMMIGRATION REFORM TOOK CENTER STAGE,
REPUBLICAN SENATORS SEARCHING FOR COMPROMISE ON AN IMMIGRATION BILL HAVE ANNOUNCED AN AMENDMENT TO DOUBLE THE NUMBER OF AGENTS ALONG THE BORDER. THE AMENDMENT WOULD ALSO REQUIRE 700 NEWS MILES OF FENCING AND INCREASE THE USE OF HIGH-TECH TOOLS, LIKE DRONES.

SMITHFIELD DEAL:

THE SENATE AG COMMITTEE WANTS TO MAKE SURE THE NATION'S TOP FOOD REGULATORS HAVE INPUT INTO THE PROPOSED SALE OF SMITHFIELD FOODS TO A CHINESE MEAT PRODUCER.

CROP WATCH:

CROPWATCH TAKES US FROM ALABAMA TO MINNESOTA.
