WET WEATHER:

A LARGE STORM SYSTEM THIS WEEK IS LEAVING MANY FIELDS SOAKED AND COMBINES AND PICKERS PARKED. THAT'S OUR TOP STORY ON AGDAY.

CATTLE ON FEED:

USDA RELEASED ITS CATTLE ON FEED REPORT YESTERDAY. IT WAS POSTPONED DUE TO THE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN. THE REPORT SHOWED CATTLE AND CALVES ON FEED AT 10 POINT 1 MILLION HEAD. THAT'S DOWN 8 PERCENT FROM THE SAME TIME LAST YEAR. THE NUMBER OF HEIFERS AND HEIFER CALVES WAS ALSO DOWN 8 PERCENT FROM 2012.

FARM BILL CONFERENCE:

AS WE'VE BEEN REPORTING, THE FARM BILL CONFERENCE COMMITTEE STARTED DICUSSIONS WEDNESDAY. PROFARMER'S WASHINGTON CONSULTANT JIM WIESEMEYER SAYS CONFEREES MADE IT CELAR DURING THEIR FIRST SESSION THAT AN AGREEMENT WON'T BE REACHED QUICKLY. HE SAYS THERE ARE TOO MANY LINGERING ISSUES STANDING IN THE WAY. HE SAYS HOUSE MEMBERS ALSO MADE IT CLEAR THEY DIDN'T LIKE THE SENATE'S PROPOSED RESTIRICTIONS ON CROP INSURANCE. WHILE TALKS JUST STARTED, THE COMMITTEE WILL BE DISRUPTED BY THE HOUSE'S RECESS, WHICH RUNS TODAY THROUGH TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 12TH.

WISCONSIN POULTRY:

EARLIER THIS WEEK, WE REPORTED JAPAN LIFTED ITS BAN ON ARKANSAS POULTRY IMPORTS. NOW OFFICIALS ANNOUNCED THEY ARE DOING THE SAME ON POULTRY PRODUCTS FROM WISCONSIN. AS WITH ARKANSAS, JAPAN HALTED SHIPMENTS AFTER AVIAN INFLUENZA WAS FOUND IN THE STATE
