AgDay: EPA Proposes Fuel Standard Cut; Ag Industry Reacts

On Nov. 15, the Environmental Protection Agency released its Renewable Fuels Standard for 2014. Those levels dictate how much ethanol goes into gasoline and how much biodiesel is blended into traditional diesel. EPA dropped next year's renewable fuel quota to 15.2 billion gallons, down from the original mandate of 18.15 billion gallons.

Pro-ethanol groups are not pleased with the proposed rule from the EPA, but the livestock sector thinks it's a move in the right direction.
