Last year at this time, 70% of the U.S. corn crop was rated good or excellent. This year, only 63% has that category. As of this week, 2% is rated very poor, 7% poor, 28% fair, 52% good and 11% excellent.
Soybean conditions also declined this week. Last week, 60% was rated good or excellent. This week, those ratings fall to 56%.
Winter wheat conditions have been holding steady. For the week, 5% is rated as very poor, 12% poor, 29% fair, 41% good and 13% excellent. Spring wheat conditions are also consistent. One percent is rated very poor, 2% poor, 21% fair, 62% good and 14% excellent.
For cotton, 6% is very poor, 9% poor, 32% fair, 43% good and 10% excellent. The percentage of the crop that is rated good increased from last week.
