There could be more than 350,000 people gathering for Agritechnica 2011, which is taking place this week in Hanover, Germany. The show opened with its first preview day on Sunday.

Spanning 24 halls at the Hanover Fairgrounds totaling 3.2 million square feet of exhibits, Agritechnica is the largest indoor agricultural exhibit. There are more than 2,600 exhibitors from 48 countries.
“Yes this is a large show, but that is not the only important thing we have to offer,” says Reinhard Grandke, CEO of the DLG (Germany Agricultural Society) who hosts the event. “It’s important that companies can present themselves, their innovations and their expertise. Here at this show you can see the future of farming and how this industry will provide food for the world.”
Attendees travel from more than 80 countries.
Agritechnica has been organized since 1985.
Stayed tuned to AgWeb for updates from the show, including the innovation prize winners who were awarded with Gold and Silver medals for new products.
