Soybean Harvest Underway in Northern Mississippi

October 6, 2011
By: Rhonda Brooks, Farm Journal Seeds & Production Editor

Joseph Crews was ready to move into soybeans fields late last week when an untimely rain came through his area, pushing the start of harvest back a few days.

Crews, who farms near Cleveland, Miss., says the soybean crop looks good and he’s pleased with how his season went.

“We were particularly lucky this year in that we didn’t have much of an insect problem, and we got good control of weeds, too” he says.

In the following video, Crews shares some agronomic details from his 2011 season.
