Leave a Legacy is designed to provide good information and appropriate tools for farmers and agribusiness who like you have an interest in succession planning, generational transition and creating a lasting legacy. In each episode we will feature an expert serving the succession planning effort.
In the first episode, Molly Darling shared the five elements of a good family communication plan. She stressed the importance of transitioning from the parent to partner and emphasized that re-learning how to communicate will facilitate a smooth transition. The five points she emphasized in “Chalk Talk” were:
- Who’s at the table?
- Neutral ground
- Rules of engagement
- Plan for conflict
- Follow up
