1969 John Deere Model 1020 Vineyard
May 28, 2011
This 1969 Model 1020 was featured in the book Art of the John Deere Tractor and is narrower than the standard 1020 and has a hard nose and lights mounted beside the engine instead of on the fenders. Because these tractors were designed for farmers across the globe, the controls carried symbols to depict their function.
The machines in The Art of the John Deere Tractor
by Lee Klancher were hand selected from the more than 400 John Deere tractors in the collect of Walter and Bruce Keller. The Brillion, Wisc. father and son team have more than 600 tractors spread across seven buildings and a custom-built brick showroom with glass windows. In the book 30 tractors were photographed in studio built on the Keller farm for this book which aims to highlight the design, style and art of the John Deere tractor history.
