International 826 Gold Demonstrator
Sep 15, 2012
When Perry Kelley Jr. decided it was time to get something to take on tractor rides, he found this 1970 demonstrator in a salvage yard in Onage, Kan. The rare machine had less than 10,000 hours on the clock, but it needed a complete restoration. Kelley is a tractor mechanic, so he was up to the task. In fact, the tinkering art is in his blood. His father was a tractor mechanic and his grandfather a blacksmith.
This demonstrator was stripped to the frame, the engine overhauled, and all-new seals, bushings, bearings, wiring, and electrics installed. The original gold paint was left under the hood and the rest covered with a fresh paint job. The result has gear drive (no hydro), a German diesel engine, Fast Hitch and an optional differential lock.
