AgWeb Isn't Blacking Out Today

Jan 18, 2012

If you’re wondering what is going on with Google, Wikepedia, Wired and Firefox today, what you are experiencing is a digital protest of SOPA. The bill before congress to censor the internet.

While I agree there are some unethical things that happen on the internet, according to everything I have read the bill is truly about piracy, not privacy as it is being sold by some. I haven’t made up my mind entirely whether I am for or against it but one thing I do know is that it will forever change our business. Most social media sites will be shut down as well as Wikipedia and any other site that sources user generated content.

I encourage you to read more about it before you choose sides. Should you decide you want to take action, I encourage you to contact congress.
