Erica Goss, Regional Reporter

 

Erica GossOriginally from a wheat and cattle farm in Northwest Oklahoma, Erica Goss is one of AgDay's regional reporters. She covers agricultural news in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico from her home base of Lubbock. 

Erica holds a Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree from Oklahoma State University and Texas Tech University, respectively, both in agricultural communications. She worked in local news, public relations and advertising sales in Lubbock and served as AgDay's national reporter from 2000 to 2002. 

Currently, Erica is a doctoral candidate at Texas Tech University in agricultural education. She teaches video production in agriculture and scientific writing at Texas Tech. Erica and her husband, Scott, live in Lubbock with their spoiled Boston Terrior, Patsy Cline.Horizon Award, NAFB Newscast and Marketcast Awards, and reporting recognition from the Associated Press. She has also received several media awards state farm groups and in 2007 received the Milton Hakel Agricultural Communications Award from the National Farmers Union.  In 2006, she was also recognized by the SDSU Journalism Department as a Distinguished Alumnus.  

Before coming to WNAX, Michelle produced and anchored the highly rated weekly agricultural television program Today’s Ag on KELO-TV and KOTA-TV. She also produced daily radio programs and was a producer and host of Midwest Market Analysis on S.D. Public Television. 

Michelle received her bachelor’s degrees in dairy manufacturing and ag journalism from SDSU, and a master’s degree in journalism. She also broadcast meteorology certification from Mississippi State University.  

Rook was a State FFA Officer in South Dakota, a national FFA officer candidate and received her American FFA Degree. She was also involved in 4-H for 11 years.  

Michelle currently lives in Yankton with her husband Brian. She is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and is involved in the church’s Praise Team, is a Sunday school music teacher and serves on the Board of Education.
