Pro Farmer editor Chip Flory offered some insight about the results.
He says the "50/50” percentage can be accredited to the "amount of high risk people are facing with input costs and rental rates.”
As for the nearly 24% who are feeling "really confident,” Flory says this is probably a result of good planning from last year. "Farmers can be really confident from building up their cash holdings as a result of good revenues in the 2008 season,” Flory says.
