Tractor Sales Slump in August

AEM releases their August Flash Report for ag equipment sales. Overall tractor and combine unit sales are lower than 2008 levels and the five-year average.
 
For August, all two-wheel-drive farm tractor sales were down 27.5%. Year to date, the segment is down 22.3%.
 
Four-wheel drive tractor sales, for August, were down 6.4% compared with a year ago, but remain up 7.6% year-to-date.
 
Combine sales were up 38.1% for August compared with the same month a year ago, and remain up 31.7% year to date.
