Stage Soybean Growth to Predict Performance

Early August is a good time for farmers to evaluate their soybean crop and make initial predictions for yield performance, according to Brad Beutke, field agronomist with Crop Tech, Heyworth, Ill. In the following video, Beutke shares some straightforward steps farmers can use to stage soybeans in their fields as well as what the value is of implementing this process. Beutke is leading a session on staging soybeans for farmers participating at the inaugural Farm Journal Soybean College. The event is underway today and tomorrow at Associate Field Agronomist Missy Bauer’s facility in Coldwater, Mich.
