WHEAT DAMAGE:

GOOD MORNING I'M CLINTON GRIFFITHS. IN A FEW DAYS WE'LL KNOW JUST HOW BAD THE COLD WEATHER HURT THE NATION'S WINTER WHEAT CROP.

DROUGHT STUDY:

REMEMBER THAT RECORD BREAKING DROUGHT THAT'S STILL LINGERING ACROSS THE WESTERN HALF OF THE U-S. A NEW REPORT SAYS GLOBAL WARMING ISN'T TO BLAME.

MSU IRRIGATION:

DUE TO DROUGHT, MANY FARMERS MADE THE INVESTMENT THIS WINTER TO INSTALL IRRIGATION SYSTEMS. RUNNING THOSE PIVOTS WILL INCREASE YOUR OPERATING COSTS.

THE NOMINATION QUESTIONS TOOK THE BACK SEAT, AS CONVERSATIONS FOCUSED ON THE MIS-USE OF EMAILS AND INSTANT-MESSAGING TO TRY TO AVOID OPEN-RECORD LAWS. THERE WERE ALSO QUESTIONS ABOUT THE RELEASE OF THOUSANDS OF FARMER'S PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVIST GROUPS. MCCARTHY IS CURRENTLY THE ASISTANT ADMINSTRATOR AT EPA.
