CATTLE INVENTORY:

GOOD MORNING I'M CLINTON GRIFFITHS. THE NATION'S CATTLE HERD CONTINUES TO SHRINK. THE BIGGEST IMPACT IS TO COW AND HEIFERS.

ENERGY SECRETARY DEPARTS:

IN THE REVOLVING DOOR OF THE PRESIDENT'S CABINET, ANOTHER MEMBER OF HIS ORIGINAL TEAM WILL NOT BE AROUND FOR A SECOND TERM. ENERGY SECRETARY STEVEN CHU ANNOUNCED FRIDAY THAT HE HAS OFFERED HIS RESIGNATION TO PRESIDENT OBAMA. CHU WAS CRITICIZED FOR HIS HANDLING OF A HALF BILLION DOLLAR FEDERAL LOAN TO SOLYNDRA. THE SOLAR-PANEL-MAKER LATER WENT BANKRUPT. OF THE 16 SITTING MEMBERS OF THE PRESIDENT'S CABINET WHEN HE WON RE-ELECTION, ONLY SIX REMAIN.

CHANGE IN WASHINGTON:

CABINET CHANGES ARE COMMONPLACE AFTER AN ELECTION. BUT WE'VE ALSO SEEN SEVERAL VETERAN SENATORS ANNOUNCING THEIR PLANS TO LEAVE WASHINGTON.
LAST WEEK IOWA SENATOR TOM HARKIN SAID HE WAS NOT RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION.
WITH SO MANY CHANGES AND RESIGNATIONS ANNOUNCED IN WASHINGTON RECENTLY, COULD THIS BE A SIGN OF FRUSTRATION IN OUR NATION'S CAPITAL?

RURAL RELAVANCE:

NOW IN HIS SECOND TERM, AGRICULTURE SECRETARY TOM VILSACK HAS TAKEN SOME CRITICISM FOR PUBLICALLY SPEAKING OUT ABOUT THE LACK OF POLITICAL CLOUT AND RELEVANCY IN RURAL AMERICA. WASHINGTON INSIDERS SAY HIS INTENT WAS HONORABLE, BUT THE DELIVERY WAS NOT. AG DAY'S MICHELLE ROOK REPORTS ON VILSACK'S ATTEMPT TO CLARIFY HIS VISION FOR AGRICULTURE.

CROP WATCH:

PLANTING SEASON IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER IN SOUTH TEXAS. IT APPEARS MANY FARMERS WILL BE KICKING UP DUST. MIKE HOFFMAN HAS DETAILS IN CROPWATCH, MIKE.
