FARM BILL:

GOOD MORNING I'M CLINTON GRIFFITHS. ANOTHER YEAR, ANOTHER RUN AT WRITING A NEW FIVE YEAR FARM BILL. WILL IT GET DONE IN 2014?

SUPPLY MANAGEMENT:

IN OUR DAIRY TODAY REPORT, FOLLOWING ON THAT FARM BILL DISCUSSION, JIM WEISMEYER SAYS THERE WILL BE A NEW DAIRY SAFETY NET BUT IT LIKELY WON'T INCLUDE ANY SUPPLY MANAGEMENT LANGUAGE. THE SENATE'S VERSION OF THE FARM BILL INCLUDES POTENTIAL PRODUCTION CONTROLS IF A PRODUCER OPTS TO SIGN UP FOR MARGIN PROTECTION.  WEISMEYER SAYS HOUSE SPEAKER JOHN BOEHNER HAS BEEN AGAINST THE PROGRAM FROM THE START AND WILL LIKELY GET HIS WAY IN A FINAL BILL.

PRODUCTION PRICES:

USDA RELEASED IT'S LATEST MILK PRICE NUMBERS FOR DECEMBER. THE U.S. ALL MILK PRICE CHECKED IN AT 21-80 PER HUNDRED...A FULL DOLLAR HIGHER THAN A YEAR AGO. CALIFORNIA'S PRICE WERE NEARLY 2 DOLLARS HIGHER.

CROP WATCH:

WINTER HAS MOVED IN ACROSS THE COUNTRY. FROM FRIGID TEMPERATURES, TO SNOW, EVEN ICE--ALL MAKING ITS WAY INTO THE LOWER 48. AGDAY METEOROLOGIST CINDY CLAWSON IS IN FOR MIKE HOFFMAN TODAY, SHE JOINS US FOR TODAY CROPWATCH.
