GOOD MORNING I'M TYNE MORGAN IN FOR CLINTON GRIFFITHS. THE NEWLY FOUND VIRUS FOUND IN THE COUNTRY'S SWINE HERD IS GROWING AT A RAPID PACE.

ANIMAL HEALTH NETWORK:

WHEN IT COMES TO ANIMAL DISEASE OUTBREAKS, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. IT'S IMPORTANT TO GET INFORMATION OUT QUICKLY TO HELP CONTROL THE SPREAD OF A DISEASE. NOW IF YOU'RE A FULLTIME FARMER, CHANCES ARE YOU HAVE A NETWORK OF ASSOCIATES TO PASS ALONG IMPORTANT UPDATES. BUT WHAT IF YOU HAVE JUST A FEW CHICKENS, HORSES OR SHEEP? ARE YOU TIED IN? IN VIRGINA THERE ARE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PART-TIME OR HOBBY FARMERS. IN THIS REPORT FROM THE VIRGINIA FARM BUREAU, NORM HYDE TELLS US HOW THE STATE IS TRYING KEEP ALL FARMERS "IN THE LOOP".

IMMIGRATION VOTE:

IMMIGRATION REFORM SUPPORTERS MARKED UP A BIG WIN IN THE SENATE. THE SENATE VOTED 67-TO-27 TO STOP DEBATE ON THE BILL. THE SEVEN VOTE MARGIN SIGNALS ENOUGH VOTES TO PASS THE BILL IN THE SENATE, WHICH INCLUDES THE HOEVEN-CORKER AMENDMENT. THE AMENDMENTS AIMS TO BEEF UP BORDER SECURITY.

FARM BILL UPDATE:

IN ANOTHER WASHINGTON NEWS, TALKS OF ANOTHER FARM BILL EXTENSION ARE SURFACING. SENATE MAJORITY LEADER HARRY REID SAYS HE WON'T AGREE TO AN EXTENSION. INSTEAD, HE SAYS THE HOUSE NEEDS TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO PASS THEIR VERSION OF THE BILL. THE HOUSE VOTED-DOWN THE FARM BILL LAST WEEK.  THE CURRENT FARM BILL EXTENSION EXPIRES SEPTEMBER 30TH.
