GOOD MORNING I'M CLINTON GRIFFITHS. SPRING IS JUST A WEEK AWAY, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN OLE' MAN WINTER WON'T PULL OFF A FEW SURPRISES.

SEVERE WEATHER PREP:

IT'S NEVER TOO EARLY TO BEGIN THINKING ABOUT SPRING AND THE START OF THE SEVERE WEATHER SEASON. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IS ALSO PLANNING TO ROLL OUT NEW TECHNOLOGY IN HOPES OF SAVING LIVES. AP REPORTER ROBERT RAY LOOKS AT THE FUTURE OF RADAR THROUGH THE EYES OF AN INDIANA TORNADO SURVIVOR.

CROP WATCH:

WINTER WEATHER IS SETTING US UP AN INTERESTING SPRING. CINDI CLAWSON IS IN FOR MIKE HOFFMAN, ONCE AGAIN TODAY.  SHE DETAILS IN THIS MORNING CROP WATCH.

CROP INSURANCE RING:

AND FEDERAL INVESTIGATORS CONTINUE TO UNRAVEL A MASSIVE CROP INSURANCE FRAUD RING IN NORTH CAROLINA. AUTHORITIES SAY A GROUP OF AGENTS, ADJUSTERS, BROKERS AND FARMERS WORKED TOGETHER TO STEAL ROUGHLY 100 MILLION DOLLARS FROM THE GOVERNMENT BACK PROGRAM. SO FAR, 41 DEFENDANTS HAVE EITHER PLEADED GUILTY OR REACHED PLEA AGREEMENTS. IT APPEARS THE CROPS IN QUESTION WEREN'T DAMAGED AT ALL, AND THE DEFENDANTS USED ALIASES TO SELL THE WRITTEN OFF HARVESTS FOR CASH.
