FARMERS:

AND THE AG DEPARTMENT WILL RELEASE ITS PROSPECTIVE PLANTINGS REPORT ON MONDAY MARCH 31ST. MEANWHILE, DURING TOP PRODUCER SEMINAR LAST MONTH, I TALKED WITH FARMERS ABOUT WHAT THEY EXPECT TO SEE IN THIS NEW GROWING SEASON.

TOLMAN RETIRES:

THE NATIONAL CORN GROWERS ASSOCIATION IS STARTING A SEARCH FOR ITS NEXT CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER. CURRENT C-E-O RICK TOLMAN IS STEPPING DOWN THIS FALL. THE NCGA SAYS TOLMAN HAS DECIDED TO STEP-DOWN FROM THE POST AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER. HE JOINED THE CORN GROWERS GROUP IN 2000.

MISSOURI RIVER:

CONGRESSIONAL MEMBERS REPRESENTING STATES IMPACTED BY THE MISSOURI RIVER ARE CALLING ON THE ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS TO RELEASE IT'S PLAN FOR SPRING FLOODING. THEY ALSO WANT TO KNOW WHAT INFRASTRUCTURE WORK HAS BEEN DONE SINCE THE FLOODING IN 2011. THEIR CONCERN IS ESTIMATES OF SNOWPACK IN THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN ROCKIES IS COMPARABLE TO LEVELS IN 20-11.
