USDA SEQUESTER:

GOOD MORNING I'M CLINTON GRIFFITHS. IT WAS NO SECRET THE SEQUESTRATION CUTS WERE GOING TO MESSY, BUT IS THE GOVERNMENT WORKING TO MAKE IT WORSE THAN IT HAS TO BE? ITS A QUESTION THE USDA IS ANSWERING.

FARM BILL:

THAT COMMITTEE WILL SOON TAKE ANOTHER RUN AT PASSING A NEW FIVE YEAR FARM BILL.

COLD CALVING:

CALVING SEASON IN NORTH DAKOTA IS JUST GETTING STARTED FOR MANY FARMERS. THE RAIN MIXED WITH SNOW THAT HIT THE STATE THIS WEEK IS TYPICAL MARCH WEATHER.
CATTLEMEN, COWS AND CALVES HAVE SURVIVED SIMILAR WINTER STORMS, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THEY LIKE IT. ONE RANCHER, TIRED OF BATTLING THE ELEMENTS YEAR AFTER YEAR, HAS BUILT A BARN FOR HIS NEWBORNS THAT FEATURES LOTS OF CREATURE COMFORTS. CLIFF NAYLOR FROM AFFILIATE KFYR REPORTS.

SNOW STORM:

AFTER THE NORTHERN PLAINS AND UPPER MIDWEST GOT PUMMELED, A SNOWSTORM WITH LOTS OF HEAVY WET SNOW MOVED TO THE EAST COAST. FEDERAL OFFICES IN THE NATION'S CAPITOL WERE SHUT-DOWN YESTERDAY. THEY WERE EXPECTING 6-TO-12 INCHES OF SNOW. OF COURSE, THE STORM WAS DUBBED A "SNOWQUESTER," PLAYING OFF THE SEQUESTER DEBATE WHICH CONTINUES TO BLANKET WASHINGTON.
