TODAY ON AGDAY

MAY SNOW:

GOOD MORNING I'M CLINTON GRIFFITHS. PLANTING COMES TO A HALT IN PARTS OF THE CENTRAL PLAINS AND MIDWEST AFTER A MIXTURE OF WINTRY - AND WICKED - WEATHER MOVES ACROSS THE NATION'S MIDSECTION. WINTER STORM WARNINGS WERE STILL IN EFFECT MONDAY IN PARTS OF COLORADO AND WYOMING BECAUSE OF THE SPRING SNOWSTORM. THE STORM STARTED SUNDAY AND BROUGHT THREE FEET OF SNOW IN HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE ROCKIES. INTERSTATE 80 WAS SHUT-DOWN FOR AWHILE BECAUSE OF THE CONDITIONS.

NEBRASKA DAMAGE:

WHILE WESTERN NEBRASKA HAD SNOW, CENTRAL AND EASTERN NEBRASKA HAD SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. RESIDENTS IN KEARNEY NEBRASKA SAY A TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN AND CAUSED SOME DAMAGE TO OUT-BUILDINGS AND HOMES. LARGE HAIL AND STRONG WINDS WERE SEEN IN OTHER PARTS OF THE STATE.

CROP PROGRESS:

BEFORE THE STORMS MOVED THROUGH, NEBRASKA FARMERS HAD MADE DECENT PROGRESS IN GETTING THEIR CROPS IN THE FIELD.
