TODAY ON AGDAY

NOVEMBER 08, 2013

GRAIN REPORTS:

GOOD MORNING I'M CLINTON GRIFFITHS. FARMERS AND GRAIN TRADERS WILL BE WATCHING CLOSELY THIS MORNING TO SEE IF USDA'S LATEST REPORTS REFLECT A BIGGER CORN AND SOYBEAN CROP IN THIS COUNTRY.

ILLINOIS FARMERS:

THOSE BIG PRODUCTION FIGURES SHOULD ALSO MEAN BIG INCREASE IN USDA'S 2013-14 DOMESTIC ENDING STOCKS. THAT REPORT WILL ALSO COME OUT THIS MORNING AT ELEVEN CENTRAL TIME.
RFS REDUCTION:

THE INDUSTRY IS ALSO WATCHING HOW USDA ADDRESSES CORN-FOR-ETHANOL USAGE. THE DEMAND LEDGER COULD BE IMPACTED IF THE GOVERNMENT MAKES CHANGES TO THE RENEWABLE FUELS STANDARD. THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY IS EXPECTED TO RELEASE THE 2014 R-F-S LEVELS THIS MONTH. THERE'S BEEN PRESSURE ON EPA FROM THE OIL INDUSTRY TO LOWER THOSE NATIONAL STANDARDS. A LOWER RFS WOULD IMPACT CORN DEMAND AND PRICE.

FDA TRANS FATS:

THE FDA SAYS IT'S PLANNING TO REQUIRE THE FOOD INDUSTRY GRADUALLY PHASE OUT TRANS FATS FROM THE AMERICAN DIET. THEY SAY ITS A THREAT TO PEOPLE'S HEALTH.
HIGH OLEIC:

ULTIMATELY, THE BAN COULD BENEIFT HIGH-OLEIC SOYBEAN GROWERS. JUST THIS WEEK ADM ANNOUNCED IT PLANS TO DOUBLE ITS ACRES OF DUPONT PIONEER'S HIGH OLEIC PLENISH SOYBEANS IN 2014.
