USDA REPORTS:

GOOD MORNING I'M CLINTON GRIFFITHS. IT'S VETERANS DAY SO BEFORE WE GET TO OUR TOP STORY, WE'D LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU TO THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO HAVE SERVED AND ARE SERVING OUR COUNTRY. THEIR SACRIFICE IS RECOGNIZED AND APPRECIATED BY ALL OF HERE AT AGDAY.

CORN PRODUCTION:

CORN PRODUCTION JUST MISSED THE 14 BILLION BUSHEL MARK. USDA HOISTED THE AVERAGE YIELD BY MORE THAN FIVE BUSHELS AN ACRE. AND THE DEPARTMENT SLICED HARVESTED CORN ACRES BY NEARLY TWO MILLION.

BEAN PRODUCTION:

TURNING TO SOYBEANS - USDA PEGS THE CROP AT NEARLY THREE-POINT-THREE BILLION BUSHELS, UP THREE PERCENT FROM THE PREVIOUS FORECAST. AVERAGE YIELD WAS INCREASED BY NEARLY TWO BUSHELS FROM THE PREVIOUS FORECAST. HARVESTED ACREAGE WAS CUT BY 700-THOUSAND ACRES FROM THE SEPTEMBER ESTIMATE.

GRAIN STOCK:

WITH THOSE HIGHER PRODUCTION LEVELS, USDA PUSHED HIGHER THE CORN ENDING STOCKS FOR THE 2013-14 MARKETING YEAR. IT'S PEGGED AT NEARLY ONE POINT NINE BILLION BUSHELS. THAT'S 32 MILLION BUSHELS HIGHER FROM THE LAST ESTIMATE. TO LOOK AT IT ANOTHER WAY - THAT'S 129-PERCENT HIGHER THAN THIS SAME REPORT A YEAR AGO.
SOYBEAN ENDING STOCKS ARE ESTIMATED AT 170 MILLION BUSHELS.
