PORCINE EPIDEMIC DIARRHEA VIRUS UPDATES:

THERE APPEARS TO BE A MAJOR DEVELOPMENT THIS MORNING ON TRACKING THE SOURCE OF A DISEASE THAT'S KILLED THOUSANDS OF PIGLETS IN THIS COUNTRY. IT'S CALLED PORCINE EPIDEMIC DIARRHEA VIRUS - OR PEDV.

JENSEN PLEA:

TWO COLORADO FARMERS WHOSE CANTALOUPES ARE TIED TO A LISTERIA OUTBREAK HAVE PLEADED GUILTY TO MISDEMEANOR CHARGES. ERIC AND RYAN JENSEN PLEADED GUILTY IN FEDERAL COURT IN DENVER TO SIX COUNTS OF INTRODUCING ADULTERATED FOOD INTO INTERSTATE COMMERCE. 33 PEOPLE DIED AFTER EATING THE CANTALOUPE. A SENTENCING HEARING HAS BEEN SET FOR JANUARY. BUT THE DEAL DID NO'T ADDRESS POSSIBLE PUNISHMENT.
