GOOD MORNING I'M CLINTON GRIFFITHS. LATER THIS MORNING, USDA WILL RELEASE TWO KEY REPORTS THAT GRAIN TRADERS WILL BE WATCHING CLOSELY, AS THEY COULD MEAN A BIG SHIFT IN PRICES.

TEXAS CORN HARVEST:

IN TEXAS CORN HARVEST IS RUNNING A BIT AHEAD OF THE AVERAGE PACE. AS OF MONDAY'S CROP PROGRESS REPORT, 60-PERCENT OF THE STATE'S TWO MILLION ACRES OF CORN HAVE BEEN HARVESTED, IN THIS REPORT FROM THE TEXAS FARM BUREAU, WE MEET ONE FARMER WHO SAYS DESPITE THE DROUGHT AND A BAD HAILSTORM, HE'S PLEASANTLY SURPRISED WITH THE OUTCOMES. CROP WATCH:

THAT TEXAS FARMER IS FORTUNATE, AS THE STATE IS CLOSING IN ON A NEW RECORD STEMMING FROM DROUGHT. MIKE HOFFMAN HAS THE DETAILS

CATTLE BEEF:

DESPITE SMALLER HERD NUMBERS AND LINGERING DROUGHT, IMPORTS OF BEEF FROM OUTSIDE THE U.S. IS ACTUALLY DOWN IN 2013. THIS AFTER MANY ANTICPATED HIGHER IMPORTS TO START THE YEAR.
