July 26, 2011

Expansion will reach 12 million additional customers.

Dallas-based Borden Dairy Company today announced it will expand its milk distribution to Alabama, Mississippi and South Carolina, to reach 12 million additional customers through thousands of retail locations.

Borden milk is also sold in Texas, Louisiana and Florida.

Coburg Dairy in South Carolina and Dairy Fresh in Alabama have been renamed Borden Dairy Company of South Carolina and Borden Dairy Company of Alabama, respectively, to support the brand's relaunch and expanded distribution.

Borden Dairy Company of Alabama will also oversee local Borden milk processing in its Hattiesburg, Miss., plant. The Hattiesburg facility will supply high quality, fresh Borden milk to communities throughout Mississippi.

The company, known for its iconic Elsie the Cow logo, employs approximately 4,500 people throughout the U.S. in the processing, distribution and sale of milk in local markets.

Somatic Cell count Issue Feels the Heat

Sorry the SC level refusal got in the craw of so many yankees, but how do you like this fine summer weather? Come on down to Mississippi, or Florida, and enjoy the fine humidity. Be sure to bring a load of your low SC milk with you. These folks will put you up for the night because you saved them the hauling cost. After serving on the DFA Corporate Resolutions Board, I listened to them and took their issues to heart. Before you shut them down, figure the amount of hundred weight that will need to be hauled in for fluid use alone. As your forefathers learned, It's a long walk to Dixie.
