Check Heats from Your Phone

October 5, 2011

Select Sires and Dairymaster introduce a new phone app that allows connected producers to check which cows are in heat, or, conversely, may be down or have lameness issues.

This new mobile application allows producers to access cow records from the barn, the field or whenever they are on the go away from the farm.

The phone app ties into Select Detect, an activity monitoring system that tracks cow movement. By comparing hourly and daily activity, the software indicates when cows are likely in heat, lame or even down.

The mobile Select Detect app ties into iPhone,  iPad, iPad touch and Android-based phones. It allows quick remote review of cows on the high activity list, low activity list and heat expectancy list. Both daily and hourly activity charts can be viewed to determine when insemination should occur.

More information on Select Detect is available here.
