Pro Farmer analyst Brian Grete says the crops in Ohio are looking good so far, but not great.

Pro Farmer senior market analyst Brian Grete reports that crops on the Eastern leg of the Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour are looking good—but not quite as good as expected.

"Based on what USDA released in their first survey-based estimate of the crop for August, we should be seeing some of the better crops across the Corn Belt today, and some of these areas have the potential to produce record yields," Grete says.

"So far, we've seen some good crops, but they haven't been great. But, we're moving into the northern part of the state of Ohio, and that's probably where we're going to see a little bit better yields on corn and pod counts on soybeans."
