Crop scouts traveling the eastern leg through Illinois saw more low numbers on the 2011 Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour.
Brian Grete, eastern Tour director, says the expected yield for the Illinois corn crop is down 6%.
Grete says this drop in yield was definitely due to stress from both moisture and heat. "It’s just not a typical Illinois corn crop."
Listen in as Sara Schafer discusses Day 3, going into Day 4 of the Tour, with Grete.
