The data gathered at last week’s Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour hit the market this week, in a big way.
Pro Farmer says it expects U.S. corn to tally 148 bu./acre, 5 bushels below the last USDA estimate of 153. On Monday grain markets surged at the Chicago Board of Trade.
Corn hit a new record high for December contacts closing near $7.70 a bushel. The previous high happened back in 2008 when December prices hit $7.65.
Listen in as Pro Farmer Editor Chip Flory describes the Tour data and its market impact.
