Post-pollination is an excellent time to get into the corn field and evaluate how well you managed your nitrogen rates this season. The process is always a bit tricky, both a science and an art, says Bill Bauer, owner of B&M Crop Consulting near Coldwater, Mich.

In the following video, Bauer shows and shares the practical steps you can use to grade your success so far this season. Make sure you take good notes so you can put that information to work this fall as you select next year’s hybrids for your farm.
