National Junior Angus Show in Kansas City Summer is here, and with it brings junior national competitions. The six-day National Junior Angus Show (NJAS) is a highlight for many National Junior Angus Association (NJAA) members and their families, and this year, the festivities take place at the American Royal Complex in Kansas City, Mo.

WHEN: Festivities begin Saturday, July 6, and run through Thursday, July 11. The NJAS is full of cattle shows, showmanship competitions, educational contests, career development events and cooking demonstrations.

WHERE: The American Royal Complex, 1701 American Royal Court, Kansas City, Mo. Activities and events will take place in many areas throughout the complex.

WHY: The nearly 750 NJAA members participating in this year’s event are the future of the Angus business. Help us celebrate their commitment to raising quality animals and providing for consumers worldwide. More than 1,100 head of cattle are expected to walk through the showring; making the NJAS one of the largest, single breed, beef cattle shows in the country.

HOW: Download the media kit for the 2013 NJAS, and contact the American Angus Association for more information on attending or covering events, requesting photos or downloading videos.

For more news and information from the 2013 NJAS, visit www.ANGUS.org to find contest results, awards, scholarships and show photos. Coverage will be available on the NJAA Facebook page, as well.

Also, plan to tune in to a special NJAS episode of The Angus Report at 7:30 a.m. (central) Monday, July 22 on RFD-TV.
