Combination Respiratory Vaccine
Zoetis introduces Bovi-Shield Gold One Shot, a new combination vaccine that protects against bovine respiratory disease and Mannheimia (Pasteurella) haemolytica in one dose. Bovi-Shield Gold One Shot offers the longest demonstrated protection of the combination respiratory vaccines on the market, protecting cattle for at least 279 days against infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) virus and bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) Types 1 and 2 viruses. It also helps protect cattle from bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV); and is the only combination respiratory vaccine that is labeled to prevent IBR, prevent BVD viremia and aid in the prevention of M. haemolytica. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved release of Bayer HealthCare LLC Animal Health Division’s marketing of ProstaMate (dinoprost tromethamine) and OvaCyst (gonadorelin diacetate tetrahydrate) reproduction management products, following Bayer’s recent acquisition of Teva Animal Health. ProstaMate and OvaCyst are available through Bayer-approved distributors. ProstaMate is approved for intramuscular (IM) administration only, in 30 mL and 90 mL vials, with recommended dosages for cattle at 25 mg (5 mL) per cow.
