A strong work ethic, honesty, reliability, integrity and good animal stewardship are key attributes of top employees working in the cattle feeding industry. Feedlot owners and managers can honor employees who exhibit these traits by nominating them for a "Top Hand" Cattle Feeding Industry Employee award.
Award winners will be recognized at Kansas State University’s Cattle Feeders College on May 22 at the Haskell County Fairgrounds in Sublette, Kan.
Top hands will be recognized in both the cattle and milling/maintenance divisions. A representative of the nominating feedyard and the award recipient must be present to accept the award.
Nominations, due by May 16, should include (in 100 words or less) what makes the individual stand out. Nominations can be submitted by email to Justin Waggoner, K-State extension beef systems specialist at email@example.com or by mail to 4500 E. Mary St., Garden City, Kan. 67846.
