Non-Stop Round Baling from Krone

November 15, 2011
By: Margy Eckelkamp, Director of Content Development, Machinery Pete

To keep the round baler rolling through harvest, Krone has developed a non-stop hay baling, wrapping and unloading system. The Non-Stop Round Baler-Wrapper Combination for the Ultima model was given a gold award for its innovations at Agritechnica 2011.

The system provides continuous bale forming, tying, wrapping and unloading of the finished bale. In the company field trials, the system improved the time in the field by 50%.
This innovation is the result of a combination of technologies, including, the semi-variable fixed chamber, which was awarded a DLG gold medal in 2007, the new Tractor Implement Management (TIM) system via ISOBUS, which allows the operator to adapt tractor speed automatically to the load on the baler and prevents overloading the machine as well as ensuring that the baler can perform a sufficient number of rotations to achieve maximum densities.
