NWS 6-10 Day: Cooler Across Heartland

April 21, 2014 09:47 AM

The National Weather Service forecast for April 27 to May 1 calls for below-normal temps acropss  the Plains and Corn Belt, with mix of precip. The Upper Midwest is expected to see drier-than-normal conditions, while above-normal precip is expected across much of the Plains, western and eastern Corn Belt. If realized, timely rain across the Central and Southern Plains would help to at least stabilize the wheat crop, while cooler temps across the Corn Belt would keep planting at a less than stellar pace.
