November 24, 2010
By: Sara Schafer, Farm Journal Media Business and Crops Editor

Don’t miss AgDay’s special Thanksgiving tribute episode, which airs Nov. 25. Farmers have many reasons to be thankful. For this reason, AgDay showcases all of the bountiful gifts agriculture provides during its annual Harvest of Thanks episode.

Since 2000, AgDay has honored American agriculture by introducing viewers to farm and ranch families who value their unique way of life.

This year, viewers will get a special treat. The program will include a short segment about “Farmers Feeding the World,” the new campaign that brings together all of American agriculture and consumers to feed those in immediate crisis and teach the hungry to feed themselves. Learn more about Farmers Feeding the World.

The show will also feature a day at harvest with Kip Tom and his family. Tom, a former Top Producer of the Year, has operations in Indiana and South America. He now serves as the farmer spokesperson for Farmers Feeding the World.

Other highlights of the show include meeting:
  • Bart Schott, a North Dakota grower and president of the National Corn Growers Association
  • Jerry McReynolds, a Kansas grower and president of the National Association of Wheat Growers
  • Gerald Simonsen, a Nebraska grower and president of the National Sorghum Producers

The program will be co-hosted by Clinton Griffiths and Andrew McCrea.

Harvest of Thanks will air Thursday morning during the normal AgDay TV slot. You’ll also be able to watch it online at: www.AgDay.com.
