Platform Monitors Irrigation Pivots Remotely

The BaseStation 3 server-based pivot-management platform from Valley Irrigation can be accessed locally or remotely through the Internet or by using its Apple or Android native mobile apps. The upgraded platform features a clean interface that allows farmers to start, stop and monitor pivots and other irrigation equipment, says John Campbell, product manager. With new layer views, farmers can keep tabs on their pivots according to operational status, surrounding soil-moisture levels and more. BaseStation 3 can operate pivot panels made by any manufacturer. Other features slated for 2014 will include a weather layer and remote generator control.
