Farmers and others in the ag industry have less than a week to comment on the EPA's proposed cuts to the Renewable Fuels Standard. The 60-day comment period ends Jan. 28.
Last November, EPA proposed a renewable fuels quota of 15 billion to 15.52 billion gallons for 2014, a substantial cut from the previously set standard of 18.15 billion gallons. The standard applies to corn-based ethanol as well as biodiesel made from soybeans and cellulosic products, such as those made from corn stalks or woody waste.
