Soybean and Wheat Export Inspections Top Expectations

Following are highlights of the Grain Export Inspections Report for the week ended April 24, 2014.

Corn

Comments:

Inspections were down 476,848 MT from last week and they fell short of pre-report expectations. Inspections are running 128.5% ahead of year-ago compared to 124.2% ahead the week prior. USDA's 2013-14 export forecast of 1.750 billion bu. is 139.4% above the previous marketing year.

Wheat

Expectations (MT)

450,000 - 625,000

Comments:

Inspections were up 122,893 MT from the week prior and the tally was expectations. Inspections for 2013-14 are running 15.6% ahead of year-ago, compared to 17.0% ahead last week. USDA's export forecast for the 2013-14 marketing year is at 1.175 billion bu., up 16.7% from the previous marketing year.

Comments:

Export inspections were up 100,336 MT from last week and above expectations. Inspections for the 2013-14 marketing year are running 21.9% ahead of year-ago compared to 22.0% ahead the week prior. USDA's 2013-14 export forecast is at 1.580 billion bu., up 19.7% from year-ago.
