Join AgDay in its annual Thanksgiving tribute to America's farmers and ranchers.
Each year at this time, we pause from our daily routine to offer a Thanksgiving salute to America's farmers and ranchers, who always seem to persevere over tremendous odds.
Like weather. This year, a very wet spring delayed planting for many farmers. A record number of acres in the Midwest were never seeded. For those who did get their crop in, there were questions as to how good it would be.
Farmers are accustomed to weather challenges—it goes with the job. But it's the unforseen, like the loss of a loved one, that leaves you struggling to find answers. Compassion played out this fall on an Indiana farm as neighbors came together to help a family coping with the loss of a husband and father.
But this is where ag shines: Farmers helping a fallen neighbor to get the job done one last time.
