
Residential heating oil prices moved higher during the week ended December 29, 2012. The average residential heating oil price climbed 0.012 cents to $3.950 per gallon, nearly 12 cents per gallon higher than the same time last year. Wholesale heating oil prices also increased -- 0.038 cents per gallon higher to $3.146 per gallon, almost 18 cents per gallon above last year at this time.
Distillate stocks increased by 2.4 million barrels to 119.4 million barrels -- still 21.0 million barrels shy of year-earlier levels, but steadily creeping up on the low end of the five-year range.

The average residential propane price increased by 0.007 cents last week to slightly more than $2.41 per gallon, 45 cents per gallon lower than the same period last year. Wholesale propane prices increased 0.072 cents to $0.905 per gallon -- 0.441 cents per gallon lower than
year-earlier.
Propane stocks fell by 0.373 million barrels (mmbbl) to register a week-week decline to 68.850 million barrels -- that's still 12.672 mmbbl above year-ago and remains well above the five-year average.
