May 2, 2014

Recipe courtesy of Jennifer Burnett of Crestview, Fla.

2 - 15oz cans/jars Great Northern Beans (drained)

1 pound chicken breast

2 – cans chicken broth about 30oz total

I – can green chilies 4oz

Garlic powder to taste

Onion dried or fresh to taste

Red pepper flakes to taste (hot)

I packet taco seasoning

Sour cream

Dice chicken and pan fry until lightly browned with oil or butter. In large pot add broth, beans (drained), cooked chicken, green chilies, onion, garlic powder and red pepper flakes. Cook on low-medium heat for 2 hours stirring occasionally then add taco seasoning packet and cook another hour stirring occasionally.

You can add in sour cream to make it a little creamier and thicker (flour will also thicken it up). Serve with sour cream or shredded cheese on top.
