Farm Kid Gives Old Greenhouse New Life

Apr 27, 2009

An old greenhouse is seeing new life since Caroline Williams of Henderson, Ky., discovered horticulture in her freshman agriculture class. “I’m growing ornamental peppers, tomatoes and nicotiana, an ornamental tobacco plant,” she explains. “It’s a way to make a little money, and its fun.” Caroline thinks her FFA chapter will buy some of her plants for its annual plant sale. Caroline and her father Robbie fixed up the greenhouse, which he had built years ago from an old oil storage tank.

Way to go! That is such a good idea and great timing for getting the greenhouse up and going again. Truly a recycled "Green Greenhouse"!
