Since 1996,
Cummins Inc. and Fiat had a joint venture in the European Engine Alliance (EEA). Today, they announced that
Fiat will have full control of EEA, which has its main development projects in 4, 5 and 6-liter diesel engines.
Cummins will receive CNH Global’s 50% stake in joint venture
Consolidated Diesel Corp. This N.C.-based company began in 1980 with a partnership between Cummins and Case Corp. (now part of
CNH Global).
EEA has some manufacturing assets in Turin, Italy.
